Any hydrangeas good for wildlife?

A non-gardening neighbour/ good friend is looking for some shrubs that have a long flowering season and are good for wildlife. I thought about purple buddleia and hydrangeas - both of which he likes. Purple flower seems to be significantly more attractive than other colours, I read.

I see that Annabelle is sterile, and Hydrangea paniculata is a better bet, but still not great for pollinators. Any thoughts?   Which would be the best hydrangea? I'm wondering about American species plants.

Also, another thing, I'd like to dig out and give him my mature climbing hydrangea, which I don't have space for and is in the wrong place (inherited). If I can get out as much of the root ball as possible, do you think it would move ok. I know the climbers are great for pollinators.

Many questions....
