Yes that's correct, on both accounts.  The cord is a sealed connection onto the trimmer.

The way you describe the connection is correct.  You can use both bits of the cable that you have cut. The piece with the plug on goes on the female  ( the bit with the holes )  the male  (  with the bits sticking out )  goes on the bit with the trimmer on.
    Look at my photos above.

There's a screw hole in the last photo you posted so the casing must unscrew to allow access to the cable ends. Chances are it will have some kind of security screws on there but it's easy enough to get a tool to undo those these days.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Thank you both

So I'm choosing between using screwdrivers and pliers

I really appreciate the answers   I don't want if u need ace taking it apart but at least I on own tsnunia option.  I'll have one more look at it but I think I'm gonna go down the cheaper and less warranty invalidating route  it getting a connector   Thank you

Even if you do get the cover off you'll almost certainly find that the original cable is soldered, not screw terminals.  The easiest option really is as suggested by others - the cable connector.  I've had to make use of them many times after the cable has jumped from where I put it, to commit suicide in the cutting blades. :D
  • Lol thank you KT53

And can I just say how niche I loved your  performance in "Rogue One : A Star Wars story"? *I think that was you?)

Yeah GOOD advice.  Even if I get in there is have to go amother round

    Connectors it is

You've lost me on the Star Wars reference.  I watched the original 3 but that's all. :)
