Aquilegias

Hi, I recently purchased one of the above. My dog kindly hit it with his talk and half of it broke off (pot has now been moved) problem is there are loads of seed pod on the broken bit. Can I plant them now they are very green, do I have to wait till they dry out a bit, etc. Also how do I plant and look after the seeds. Anything to help and please keep it simple I am very new at this. Thanks
