Under planting Irish Yew

I have recently planted four 2m high Irish Yew Fastigiata trees and I am looking for suggestions for under planting. Each yew has a been planted in a newly dug bed of approx. 1.5 m sq. they are in full sun and I have a rich clay soil. Ideas would be much appreciated.
