Centipedes in the wormery

A few years ago I started a wormery in an old, leaking water tank. It has been very successful, but last time I turned the compost over I found very few worms and several centipedes. Are the centipedes killing the worms? If so, what, if anything can be done?
Everyone likes butterflies. Nobody likes caterpillars.

  • Yes. Centipedes eat worms. I'm not sure how you get rid though, other than picking them out as you find them.

Thank you. I'm nervous about picking them out as they look as if they could give you a nasty nip. Might have to use gloves!

  • They can give you a nip, you'll live though.  ;) Best to squish them with something I'd say.
