It is a useful wood though, everything used to be made of ash from tools and weapons to farm machinery. If I have room I let them grow large enough to be cut for bean or pea sticks. If there's more room then it makes good firewood so worth leaving to grow to a useful size to cut for logs. I'm letting one grow in the garden at the moment so I can use it to make a rustic bird table when it gets large enough. Just ring bark at the base to kill it off and chop the trunk to the desired height to top with a table.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
it looks very similar to the hedge that's next to it but the leaves are probably twice as big. sorry for the stupid questions .. I moved here so it wasn't me who planted any of these! 😂
