Grass advice needed

Hi all...I have a bit of an issue with a new lawn. The turf has been down a year now and seemed free of weeds etc last summer.

This spring, post feeding the lawn and keeping it mown regularly, what looks like a weed or different type of grass has started growing quite aggressively.

Can anyone advise what this is and if I can do anything about it. I’d be really grateful for any thoughts or assistance.

I have uploaded a picture as I can’t describe what it is.

Thanks in advance.

    Looks fine to me..
This is the time of year that grasses 'flower' you can see the seed heads on the grass.
It needs a cut desperately. Try and aim to just remove a little at each cut, but your grass is getting really long now. It should be about 2" this time of year

Looks like you have a very lush lawn that many would be envious of. All I can see is that the grass has gone to seed which it does at this time of year - unless you are referring to something else that I can't see from the pic?

Ahhh...such a newbie 🙄 Thanks for the advice, the turf did seem like great quality, especially for a new build.

I have been cutting it very regularly but left it a little longer due to the amount of sun we were having, it was looking a little dry and burnt in places.

I’ll make sure I cut it very soon.

Cheers for the comments so far everyone.
