Madagascar Dragon Tree - advice please

Hello,
I have had a Madagascar Dragon Tree for about 6 months now and have noticed the tips of the leaves have started to go brown. I've looked online and it said it can be due to over or under watering so I don't know which one it is?
The plant was kept in a hallway in a shaded/dark area but I have now moved it to a brighter room by a window with blinds but it is not in direct sunlight.
I tend to water the plant when I see the top soil is dry and I stick my finger into the soil to see if it is dry underneath too.
The plant is still in the same pot I got it in from the garden centre.
My flat is fairly warm all year round.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I love this plant so want to make sure I do everything to keep it healthy.
I have attached some photos of the plant also.
Thank you
Alison

I water mine infrequently.. only when the leaves start to droop a bit.  Maybe that's not right, but it's kept it healthy and happy for the six plus years I've had them.

Water it less, the brown bits look soft.. if it was underwatering, they would be crispy.
