Beheading Aeonium and Echeveria.

Is now a good time to behead Aeonium and Echeveria and pot up the cuttings?
I know how to do it but cannot find out when (or can it be done anytime?).

    Aeoniums are supposed to go dormant in hot weather so I don't know if early summer is the best time but they should still be growing at the moment. I find it hard to get accurate info about them though. One of mine is in full flower and I've been trying to find out if it will die after flowering or not. Mixed opinions so far.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I have decapitated both my Aeonium cuneatum and Echeveria 'Duchess of Nuremberg' and potted up the heads and hope now that the stalks will shoot out.
    I have done the Echeveria before successfully but cannot remember when I did it.There does not seem to be much information anywhere (in books or the Internet) as to 'when' just the 'how'.
    Have just made my own note as to when I did it for future reference!!
