    You don't see many aspidistra about. It was one of the first plants that I nurtured as a child. No one in my family was remotely interested in plants or gardening. It was neglected and dusty. I was so proud to get it to flower, but there was no one particularly interested.

    Just, it was a very popular plant in the 1930s. :)

    I swear it's over ten years since I removed a hebe. The one with variegated leaves green and cream  with a bit of red,  It has  blue and white flowers
    Well, it's popped up bold as brass and a foot high! I'm going to have to look after it now. So long a it behaves itself, it can stay. It deserves a chance, I suppose

    I haven't have any fennel for about three years, but suddenly a piece has appeared in the middle of the path (of course). I'm happy to see it's surviving.
