I'm not 100% confident on this , but seeing the basal clump of leaves on the 11/17 picture , and most Digitalis being biennials , this would be its year for flowering .

Yes, but 'plonker' is such a great word, it's good to have an opportunity to use it.

1.Cannot be Digitalis lutea  as the leaves are alternate.

I think the first one is a Campanula, not sure which one though.

Again thanks to all for input, I do remember buying Campanula, just don't remember where I put it originally and have since 're-arranged' the garden a couple of times to suit what grows and what doesn't.

Really must be more disciplined to keep plants labelled or a note of where they are!  Have attached picture to show where they are now, in the trough against the fence, stop of the steps, before they grew so tall the trough was in front of the wooden planters. The sun comes up from front of house, up and over the garden and sets to right of the cabin.

Will definitely post pictures when they flower, will that be summer or autumn (it's certainly not winter or spring as the previous pictures tell)?

By the way Paul B3 - definitely not a plonker as I wouldn't have known about Digitalis Lutea and as we are shortly to be starting from scratch in the font garden, it is on the list.

I like your paving. Is it new-ish?

Yep - new-ish, it is actually buff coloured. picture was taken on a wet day! Garden looked like this 3 years ago...

And with no back entrance whole garden and extension project lots of fun!
Can't wait to get started on the front...so far have only bricked up outside cupboard.
