Holes in geranium leaves

My bedding geraniums in the greenhouse have small holes in the leaves.  Does anyone have an idea of the cause please?

    I'm afraid I can't do that as it is for a friend who asked me about it.  I have never experienced this myself.  She just said they were very small holes but there was no evidence of a bug or anything which might have done it.  I suggested she take off the leaves and burn them and see what happened.
