Lifting Pansies

harmonyharmony Posts: 403
Hi, I've got a wheelbarrow full of pansies that are lovely but i've bought a geranium rozanne that I want to put in as well as trailing bedding. Would you bin the pansies 😢 or would they be ok in a shady corner and keep flowering. I have noticed they have started to become a little leggy since the hot sunny weather. Just feel sad at the thought of binning them lol....

They won't bloom well in shade (you'd be luckier if they were violas), but you can prune them and keep them alive until you have some room in the autumn.

Cut them back, dig them out with a good size rootball, and put them in a spare pot somewhere sunny.  Maybe at the base of the wheelbarrow, so they can get at least part sun?
