hydrangea in danger!

    I  can’t see too clearly but I could suggest that you paint the stems with methylated spirits, just use a paint brush and make sure you cover the bugs well.

    Looks like scale insects?

    They look like Pulvinaria regalis but I don’t know how to eradicate them. Maybe a search on google may help. 
    I had them on my Acer but they disappeared during the winter.

    Sorry couldn’t be of more help. I’m sure someone else may have the right answer.

    Hi thank you all for your input. Yes they do look like the pulvinaria scale insects they are more dark gray colour. I have spray them with a mixture of soda vinegar water and more scrapping this morning, will see how's the plant doing later. Don't like sticky bugs they make my hair stands!!😱
