Best way to get rid of moss(?) in grass

  From what I can see , looks like Pearlwort (Sagina procumbens) , a common weed of block-paved areas .
  Someone else will maybe know how to get rid of it from lawns .

  We don't have any block paved areas, however I have seen it on the borders around the grass too. The soil is quite heavy clay, and gets very waterlogged in the wet winter months.

  I meant that it is often found on block-paved areas ! It loves damp places , and I think it's fairly resistant to weedkillers , not that many on the forum condone using them .

  You can kill moss by adding iron sulphate (off the top of my head, I think you apply 5g per metre, but check that). You can manually remove it by taking or scarifying. You can do one or the other, or both. Different people have different ideas. You want to do it when the grass is growing well, before the weather gets too hot, so you're probably near the end of the window now. If you miss this opportunity, you get another chance around Sept when it cools.

  Not sure if Ferrous sulphate kills it ,as it's not a moss .
