Thanks for the replies! Here's what it looks like from the outside - it's sunken down so that the beds inside are at ground level. It seems very stable despite the gently undulating roof..
The garden is amazing although it's been a bit of a baptism of fire for us. Prior to moving here all I had ever done was mow lawns and cut the odd tree back. Now we've inherited some amazing borders full of hundreds of plants that I an only guess the names of. I'd be delighted so share some more photos if that's seen as appropriate on this forum? (perhaps not in the cat poo thread though?
I am sure you can put as many photos of your garden on this forum as you like. We are all interested. Maybe highlight some plants you don't know the name of as you can guarantee someone out there will know. Looking forward to seeing more of your garden
It's absolutely beautiful - the greenhouse and the garden, I'm so glad you were persuaded to keep the greenhouse. And yes, someone on here will be able to identify any mystery plants, then you'll be able to look up how to care for them. Enjoy your baptism of fire

Thank you for all your lovely replies. I'll upload some more photos soon, and take some more of some of the mystery plants (and weeds...) The pic in my avatar is of the pond which is growing a very impressive crop of nettles
we are all soooh hidiously jealous, have found cats sunbathing in one of my greenhouses, they prefer to poo outside in my veg plot. Think everyone on here has covered it, I know is recomended that pregnant, (was going to put ladies, but just remembered reading thats "sexit" and upsets the "pgregnant men out there" should not "clear up" after cats. Had 4 bags of compost, started the top bag hadnt used much, it was laying on its side, hubby tipped some into the wheelbarrow, and YUP, a cat had somehow managed to squeeze into the narrrow top slit, wriggle its bum inside the almost full bag, and do a you know what, well several actually!!!
it would be sacrilegious for anybody to get rid of a greenhouse such as this !!! Please keep us updated on this fantastic greenhouse .I would have bought the house just for this alone .I wouldn't have cared what the condition the house was in .but saying that hope it was ok .
lol, the house is lovely, was built in 1600 so has a wonky roof, low ceilings, oak frame, lime rendering and all sorts of other things. We're very much in at the deep end with it but still loving it.
