Pull it or leave it?

This mystery plant is thrusting it’s way up through my penstemons and geraniums but what is it?
Last year this bit of garden had a wildflower patch and I’m wondering if something has self seeded.
The hairy one is the mystery plant.

It's an oriental poppy. Big showy flowers, clumps up but doesn't seed itself readily so doesn't spread around. I like them - they are quite 'blowsy' though  :)

Don't pull it!!!  Oriental poppy for sure.  I've got several ready to show; Princess Victoria Louise, Pattys Plum, Royal Wedding and Beauty of Livermere.  Wouldn't be without them.

Even if you wanted to they are quite difficult to get rid of due to the deep tap root. I had one crowding out my heleniums. Dug it out but it came back with a vengeance!

Thanks everyone, I remember now I had a poppy & I think it might have been Victoria Louise. I didn’t get to see it flower properly as the flower heads swelled but wouldn’t open, I thought I’d dug it up.
Anyway, it’s a keeper. Thank you. I love this forum; full of helpful, friendly people.
