Coir and where to buy it

Some years ago in a previous garden I used coir to provide structure to the heavy clay soil. It worked really well. It was available at most local garden centres at reasonable prices, but I've found recently that I can no longer find it. I've asked at a couple of my regular haunts and they say it's too expensive. Monty still uses it, so it's obviously still available, and why has the price hiked up? It's a byproduct so more environmentally-friendly than peat. AND where can I find it?
