Newbie to gardening - what are these?

Hi, 

Being a complete beginner I would appreciate advice on what the white (and the violet) plants are in this pic as I'd love to grow them. Thanks

    Could be forget me nots. They look very deep blue but it might just be the photo.

    I thought verbena at first glance too, but they are forget-me-nots - must be a cultivated variety, mine are all pale blue - and what a lovely colour combo
