My japanese maple, has a black trunk and branches.as I am new to this can anyone tell me what is wrong? Two of my other trees have started growing leaves but all the leaves have died ??

Chemical spray.
Disease.... such as phytophthora
Fungal infection.
Too wet.
Too dry.
Remove and burn if possible...do not put in green waste council recycling
