What shall I use here?!

This is an old pond filled in. It’s under a hedge. I’ve cleared the rubble out and popped in some lavender and nemasia. What could go in behind them? More nemasia? Hebe? It needs to be light or variegated leaves or white flowers to stand out I think. South facing. I just want it to look a little tidier for now. Excuse the patches in the lawn-I’ve put some seed down to cover all the bare patches!

You could get a few annuals from the supermarket or garden centre, but I wouldn’t put anything else there.
The hedge is going to grow out and it will take moisture out of the ground. .nemesias grow big, I’d leave it for now before thinking of something permanent.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Annuals is a really good shout. Maybe a load of white pansies. I didn’t realise nemasias grew large.  Thanks

Looking at your soil and the sun, I think Silene Uniflora 'Druett's Variegated' would be ideal. They spread and creep and keep their roots quite shallow, so suitable for dry soils. Even not in flower, the foliage shines out against other plants.

Not heard of them before borderline. I shall have to see where I can source them from and fill the gaps with annuals
