Vine weevil

I had vine weevil& hadn't realised last year so I watered on nematodes a few weeks ago, I've seen 2adulys this wedk(& squashed them) is it worth buying the rather expensive adult vine weevil traps? Or just squash any u see& use nematodes again later in re season, just what I need with the sluggiest snailiest garden in the country 🙁

I'm sure the nematodes will work ... they did here  :D so I would wait for them to take effect ... they work on the larvae so pick off any adults you find now but there should soon be fewer and fewer of them ... and then do the second application and you should be fine. We applied nematodes to The Shady Bank about four years ago ... when we started our primulas and shrubs were getting really badly damaged but four years on and there's still no sign of them ... fingers crossed.

Oh Dove I will try but you know how useless I am with inserting links& stuff... Where are you going? We've fallen in love withNorfolk & coming for 3rd year running in August! Any gardens you'd say are must visits? We're staying near Wells

It's quite simple ... just the @ symbol and my name and the link will create itself  :)
Have you been to The Old Vicarage Gardens at East Ruston?  An absolute must!

They worked for me and I think that the vine weevil nematodes might also attack the lilly beetle larvae. No evidence but we certainly had less lilly beetles.
