I was given a couple of plants - no name tag and not one that I recognize - can anyone help please?

That was quick and as usual so helpful - thank you Hosta & DimWit.  I have never grown this plant before, and I am pleased to see that it is bee friendly, has no known pests and I can put the plants in a container.  I am not sure if they are annual, biannual or perennial - the RHS site says it can be any of these.

I’ve just planted 18 out, grown from seeds, no slug damage and loved by bees.

18! Are yours perennials?  Do the flowers come in different colours?

It's most likely once you plant them out, they will self seed so being a hardy annual, they may come back next year, especially if you plant them into your borders.

I think I will pot one up for display and the other will be planted into the border in a few weeks time - they are both quite small at the mo.
