If you feed them or put them on rich ground they will get loads of green and not so many flowers, like the ones in the photo above. But I love the green ferny foliage so it really doesn’t need matter.

Jason3, that is not right, the seeds will quite happily germinate outside, at this time of year.
Huh sorry you lost me ? I haven' said that they won' germinate outside? I just said they need heat around 20 degrees to get the best germination. If you read back I posted that I've even got some cosmos self seeded outside
