Disappearing plants

(if I manage to post this without getting told there was s problem  grrrrr! )I have s north facing shady border, into which last year I planted lots of wood anemones, pulmonaria, a bit of comfrey& 3dicentra.all that is there now is 1dicentra! It does get very little sun, it's under lots of vlimbers( which I really pruned in late winter & lifted up by 2feet, the trampoline is in front of it too creating even more shade, 1; where have all my plants gone?! 2what can o put in there? We have lots of slugs& snails, advice vice appreciated, hate looking at bare soil!

    Those plants should all be fine in shade. 
    My thought is , perhaps they've dried out last summer/ autumn??

    Yes, they all like to be reasonably damp. Perhaps the established plants around dried the soil out too much when they were babies. Or did you get a very hard late frost in your area? Perhaps the very new growth was coming up and got burned off by the cold in March - is it very exposed to the easterly wind, would you say?

    Thanks both, it's very sheltered but I bet you're right they will have dried out , kids on watering duty then!

    both my anemones Blanda and pulmonaria get eaten by slugs but they don’t touch the Dicentra, so, if they were mine I’d know it was slugs.
