Quite possible a Nelly Moser - very common but that's cos she's a good doer from way back and is a staple garden plant - http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=35

I love it but some people can be quite snooty about it.   Group 2 for pruning so that means she flowers on old stems in late spring and then you can dead head and give a light trim to keep in bounds as soon as the first flush of flowers is over.  Give a good feed and she'll flower again at the end of summer on new stems which will carry next season's first flush.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I would agree with Obelixx. Lovely flower and a good doer but doesn't like full sun.

Thanks very much for that. We love it and at least we can give it name now.
