Need to do a bit more research about planting times and exactly what types and colours I want but I'll be looking to put in Spring bulbs below an apple tree and dot some more around a small border; crocuses, irises, hyacinths and some tulips probably.
I want some clematis (one that will grow up the tree, feet in shade face in sun variety) and one for the opposite fence (mostly sunny), also some geraniums and some (most likely to be) ground covering plants that don't mind roughing it in a patch of poor stony soil and mostly shade (Black grass maybe?).
If that little lot goes in the ground in Autumn then that's what I'm intending to plant. That and grass seed.
Plant out some hardy perennials that will continue to grow roots over mild periods in Autumn and winter, as well as the foxgloves. Also bulbs and continuing to pot on but mainly clearing thousands of beech leaves.
Bulbs, bulbs and yet more bulbs.Love em and bomb proof
Ah yes of course.
I think I’ll be trying out crocuses.
Also, given how they may survive bombs but not animals, I may try “naturalising” my bulb beds...Ie undoing all the hard work I wenthrough to dig up the lawn in the first place!
I'll definitely be trying species tulips. I only discovered this year how they are reliable and gloriously coloured repeaters and multipliers. It's on the list.
Always something to plant in autumn but no specifics yet. Bulbs, shrubs, trees, things I've grown from seed this spring, stuff I get at the November plant swap in the garden club................

Sowing the garlic mustard seeds in my micro-woodland (one tree) which I didn't get round to sowing before the drought. Moving a couple of flowering shrubs and maybe buy another hydrangea or two.
