Apple tree with no leaves

This apple tree bore a lot of fruit last year but this year not even a single leaf. Our two other trees are in full blossom. Any ideas as to what is going on

Have you done the "scrape" test see if the trunk is green.    We have one apple it only produced very small fruit, we wondered if it had been planted to pollinate the other 2,  this year it had just a very few leaves, the rest of the tree is obviously dea, but in the middle of a wild flower bit, not the right time to remove it, so this year I have covered it with pretty hanging baskets, next year it will be removed.

Thanks for the reply. It's a very small tree only planted about two years ago.

I'd agree with pansyface - it's rather strange the way it's been pruned.
Some trees are tip bearing and some produce fruit all along the branch. Do you know what kind you have? The pic isn't terribly clear, but it does look like it has some buds breaking on the longer branches lower down, in which case you've cut off lots of pieces which would have produced flowers/fruit.
It may produce some blossom and then some foliage, but it should really be further on than it is just now - even if you're in a colder part of the country.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We did the scrape test like nanny beach said and it's still green. It did bear an awful lot of fruit last year, much more than I would have expected from such a small tree but I suspect the pruning went a bit wrong. We will leave it for another four weeks or so to see if anything happens.
