Cold frame height
So OH is making me a cold frame and has asked me this morning what height I want the base to be. I'd assumed it would sit down on the ground but he's thinking of making the base table height so it's easier for me to put plants in and out, etc. I think that's a great idea but before he commits do you have any comments?

Down on the ground it's easier to keep it sheltered, which help enormously if you're overwintering anything
Perhaps you could make it a combination. If the top was separate, but very securely fixed to a base [sliding bolts or similar] you could detach it for winter and have it at ground level. Just a thought....
