Cosmos pinching

Could anyone recommend when is best to pinch the tips of cosmos plants? I've grown from seed and my plants are at different growing stages

    Now is the perfect time for one like that.
    you could also put them in bigger pots and plunge in deeper.

    I'm a novice with cosmos. Where do I pinch? When you say plunge in deeper what do you mean?

    Get a bigger pot put a tiny bit of compost in the bottom then put the plant in so it’s stem will be below the surface. 
    See the new pale fluffy growth at the top, just grab it with thumb and finger nail and nip it out. It looks like it’s about the 2 top leaves.

    Ryan when did you plant the seeds,mine don't look nearly as good as yours,all leggy and thin! 
    Lyn,shall I put mine in deeper pots??
    Normally I just chuck the seed straight on the ground,but read that the plants will be stronger if nurtured in a pot indoors!

    It does look like a great plant. Every single of mine was slugged to the ground.

    Mine are poor specimens too, they are just sitting in their pots doing nothing but they aren’t dying either. Maybe they will do better after a prolonged period of warm sunny days. Ryan, yours looks a lovely strong specimen. I have sowed several lots at different times starting mid April and the later ones seem to be slightly stronger but still small. As a last resort I’ve sown some direct a couple of days ago.
