Apple blossom and Mistletoe

Not sure if this should go under 'plants' or in 'potting shed' but will try latter.
In our garden near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, we have a Bramley apple tree in full flower. That's normal, but what isn't as far as I can tell is that we also have mistletoe branching from the tree still with berries on. So we have Christmas and Spring in the garden at the same time.
Is this unusual? We have not noticed it before and the mistletoe has been on the tree for several years and produces berries in the winter. It did this year but still has them now during apple blossom time. Mind you with the blossom falling it looks like snow underneath the tree.

The RHS says the berries appear from winter thru to April so, given the cold winter and late season, it isn't unusual for your mistletoe to have berries now.

There are a few trees round here still with berries on but not a lot left now as we're a bit ahead of you.

  • Many thanks. So, it's as we suspected, all to do with the cool weather resulting in the very late spring.
