just wondering if anyone has planted out their beans? Mine are hardened off and ready so might just take a chance with some fleece on standby!

I got a bit carried away last month after a seed order from real seeds arrived lol! Still, they are healthy plants, I can easily cover them so have thrown caution to the wind thinking I might sow some more now in case I lose them... can always give extras away 😬

I planted my courgettes and pumpkins out a week ago 🤭 They have been fine so far, but I’m stalking the Met Office lol!
  • I plant them out after hardening off but put fleece round as wind breaknow and possible low temperature and frost protection. I don't anticipate squashes or courgettes until end of May at earliest. I'm in York.

I’m fingers crossed, I’m in Herts. I’m just in a caution to the wind mood at the moment, think I’m having a midlife crisis lol 😂

My courgettes are in the veg patch now, but they're under a cloche.
I've sown my runner beans direct this week ... hopefully they'll be up when we get back from our holiday at the end of the month. They are in a sheltered spot so fingers are crossed they should be fine.

My runner beans are in and looking good, down here in South Wales near the coast, weather can be a bit milder, been growing for many years never lost any.

Have only just sown my runner beans and climbing French beans indoors. They grow quickly so there is plenty of time before planting them out. They are so tender and easily damaged by wind and cold it is not worth rushing to plant them out.
