Can anybody identify this bulb?

We have just finished clearing overgrown scrubland behind our house in Scotland. Finally it’s time to plant, but I am finding hundreds of these bulbs in clusters. Could anybody identify them. Any help much appreciated!

    Thank you Kitty. That would be a pleasant surprise. It used to be dense woodland filled with gorse and wild rhododendrons, so I’m preparing for it to be much more invasive and weedy 😳
