Another tree/shrub for ID please

Anybody know what this one is? Ignore the red flowers, they belong to the rhododendron on the left.

    cornus mas? did it have yellow flowers?

    @Hostafan1 No sign of any yellow flowers, but maybe they come before the leaves and we somehow missed them?  Or the Beast(s) had them.

    they do come before the leaves, and The Beast might well have had them, that's if it is cornus mas.

    Well I value your opinions, and you're far more likely to be right than me! And, ahem, I shall be posting a few pictures of hostas soon :)
