What plant is this?

Bought it about 6 months, no name given when I bought it. It looks like a Bromliad, with its spiralling thick green leaves, however I am doubtful. It's about 8-10" inches high and growing nicely in potting compost. Though it would be good to name it, so it can be grown properly!

    Hi John
    From what I can see , yours isn't a Bromeliad !
I think what you've got there is a healthy looking specimen of Dracaena 'Janet Craig' forma 'Compacta' ; these are relatively easy to grow indoor plants (in our latitudes) , and are tolerant of fairly low light conditions .
Hope this is of some help to you ; (and hope I'm correct in my ID)!!!!
  • Thank you very much. A great help. It's doing really well, but now I know what it is, I can do a better job of looking after it. Really appreciated.
