Seagulls!

Help, please! I planted a whole load of lavender and Busy Lizzies around a roof garden a couple of weeks ago and they’ve all disappeared. Was a bit mystified until my husband caught a gull snatching them! Has anyone seen this before, and have any ideas to stop them snatching the next lot, please?! I’d grown the plants on from plugs so they were a decent size!

Place chicken wire over them until they are well rooted

But fix it firmly because gulls are big and strong and can be very determined.  I constructed a cage over my bird table so only the birds small enough to fit through the mesh could feed, the herring gulls have demolished it.
