common cinquefoil versus cotoneaster horizontalalis
Hello Group
I wonder if I could ask some advice about cotoneaster which is being overwhelmed by common cinquefoil. We planted the cotoneaster on a steep bank to hopefully cut down on the amount of mowing in that area. So far the cotoneaster covers some 6sqm and is doing well.
However, the cinquefoil also likes this spot and appears to be winning. Hand weeding is proving impossible and so my questions are as follows.
Is there a selective weedkiller which will kill the cinquefoil but not the cotoneaster?
If not and we just leave them to it will the cotoneaster 'win out' over the cinquefoil or vice versa?
Any tips or opinions will be very gratefully received, thank you!
