Moving Snowdrops

harmonyharmony Posts: 403
Hi, is it too late to disturb snowdrops. I need to replant a hebe that has outgrown its pot and the only space suitable has clumps of snowdrops which I would be replanting straight back into the soil. Thanks..

Should be OK, especially if you get a big enough clump of soil with the bulbs (then, with no root disturbance, they don't even know they've been moved). I've moved them at various times of the year with no obvious ill effects. YMMV

It's a good time to split them as well if you want to increase them, break them up into small bundles no more that 3 or 4, replant straight away and water in. Thedy do need splitting from time to time or they get very crowded and the squashed ones stop flowering
