Harlow Carr visit - Pictures

Bit early for most herbaceous perennials but still plenty of spring plants / shrubs to see. A plant fair was on also. Picked up a meconopsis. Went a bit over the top with the camera.

I know Harlow Carr is  a bit oop north, but daffs still out on 6th May.!! It looks more like March for most stuff.  It is only three weeks to Chelsea flower show.  They look like they have the same problem I have. Daffs in the same pot as tulips should have been long gone, but both are in flower together.

Those photos are quite wonderful, thanks so much, I feel as though I've been on a tour of these gardens myself..

Incidentally the photos loaded quickly on my laptop, not all do that, and I can enlarge and zoom in a little bit too...

Appreciate the time and trouble you went to there... and I'm sure you had a great day out...

Wow! Thanks for that Perki. As I am unlikely to visit any of these places ( the Irish Sea's in the way!) it's great to be able to see them.
Some great ideas there and I've been making notes. I can feel a pergola coming on....
Your mission now is to go back every month and do that again.
Fidget my daffs are still in flower and while a couple of my tulips have been and gone, some are just opening after yesterday's wee blast of sunshine!

Thank you.  It has changed enormously since I was there in 2007.   Looks great.

Your welcome, its the first time I've visited and I couldn't of picked a nicer day. Lots of plants planted on a large scale, the tulips near the alpine house were beautiful. Tallest rhododendrons I've ever seen as well some must of been around 25ft - 30ft. They is still a few areas under developed which they are work on. When I win the lottery I am having one of them greenhouses  :)
