Friend or Foe

Hi All
Can anyone identify this plant, I have moved into a house and there are loads of it in the garden, Grows using a long root system that snaps off if tugged, Thanks in advance

    if you have unlimited time on your hands you can trace every single bit of root and remove it, but as you now know how easily it breaks, you might want to use roundup carefully.
