  That looks very much like a paeony ... but the plant has hardly any leaves ... the rest of us have to wait to get them established enough to produce flowers

  Agree, paeony - but I'm very confused about the lack of foliage! Even rubra plena, which can't wait to get going, has masses of leaves before flower buds appear.

  Wacks must just have one of those gardens where everything grows, and very green thumbs
