The 2nd I think is some sort of berberis but I don't know what sort. The 1st is a tree

Hi lavender4. I agree with Fire for number one - its a flowering cherry and I also agree with you about the golden berberis - possibly Golden Rocket - but there are quite a few varieties.

thank you for that. I presume being called a flowering cherry doesn't mean it will have cherries?

It depends if the cherry is ornamental only or not.

Berberis could be thunbergii "Aurea" ?
