Pieris Forest Flame - Container Type?

Hi All,

I've got a small (30-45cm?) Pieris Forest Flame that was given to me. Unfortunately I have alkaline soil, so I'm thinking it should go in a container with some ericaceous compost.

I have a Belfast sink waiting to be used, but I was wondering, would it be deep enough for the plant? The pot it is in comfortably fits inside.

My second question would be, what other plants would happily live in a container with it? I have some small heather plants I could use.

Thanks for your advice!

At 35-45 cm, it should be fine in the sink for now. But I don't think long term. Small heathers are fine. The type of plants with your Pieris should be plants that enjoy semi-shade. Gaultheria Procumbens make a great sprawling low cover too, and should do fine in the sink.
