    The only downside for us is that the rats moved in due to the access of readily available food. I've been picking them off with my air rifle in the evenings as I won't risk traps or poison due to the hogs.
    Yep I dont think leaving food out would be an option for us either with the dog and plenty of rats about. If they have been regular visitors then its a good sign they (or others) will be back I would imagine, especially as you are making it very des res for them.
    I have come across a couple in the last few years in the garden, but not for the last 2 or 3. A camera is a good idea, might have to give that a try. Did you have to wire it up or is  a standalone thing?

    (EDIT) - just seen the pics of yours in the other thread. That camera looks just the job, it just so happens I have a voucher which may come in handy for one of those

    I went for the Apeman H68 from Amazon. Very good reviews. Battery operated although it does drain when using the video side. There's some images from me on the thread I highlighted around pages 25(ish)

    thanks dave, yep Id just seen them and the camera, looks the business, would love one of those in the garden
