My mother always pegs out in colour order on her line starting with white cream yellow green blue purple red pink then grey and black. She also has pegs to match each garment. Some people have too much time on their hands but I must admit it looks good!
I use a couple of the old fashioned clothes horses. They do sometimes blow over into the shed or a flower bed! But it means I can move the washing to where the sun is, and they can folded up and put away
Interesting to hear what you all get up too! The ‘shall I risk it?’ washing line gamble is such a fun game! I have lost count the number of times I have come home to washing wetter than when I put it out. I removed my rotary line, whilst we do some repairs on the patio, and I have noticed how much bigger the patio looks. I might take it down more often now I have noticed that... but I doubt I will.
I have rotary line and 2 places to put it. One is the winter spot, where any sun reaches, the other is hidden behind trellis in the summer. When l visited Gardeners World Live last year, l was struck by the 1960s garden complete with washing line and a couple of teatowels. Not a sight you are likely to see at Chelsea.
