A tiny little pond (or not)

    And Lily of the Valley would do well there, amongst the ferns  :)

    Why not look into a little solar fountain too? Helps to keep the water clear and you can position the panel anywhere that catches a few rays.

    Sounds lovely, but if you arethinking of using a washing up bowl or similar for your pond, do please be aware that small animals/amphibians could fall in and so need a rock or two to climb out - I once had a baby hedgehog fall in and drown to my regret.

    Lizzie, I will definitely take an entrance/exit route into account. So sad about the little hog :(

    In my wet area round small pond I have Marsh Marigold, Primulas, Ragged Robin,Astilbe and Astrantia (Masterwort)

    Yes, I can see a pond and bog garden combo. Ferns, hostas, brunnera and maybe an astilbe or two. You could have something to trail down the wall too...maybe creeping jenny or mind-your-own-business. It’s got potential...the critters will love it.

    Talking about tiny ponds, I've found an old white china potty - the kind kept under the bed in the good old days and was wondering what to do with it (clean suggestions only please!)   Would it be naff to put a miniature water lily in it and put it in the garden somewhere?
