Picardy Clematis

I want to use this plant in a hanging basket to grow at the side of a very pale lilac coloured door, but judging by the photographs online it is likely to turn out any colour from a deep scarlet to a vivid purple. Have any of you grown this plant or seen it growing please? I really would like to know the most likely colour before spending about sixteen pounds on it and then being disappointed.

This clematis database says it looks like this - http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=2950

To grow well in a hanging basket it needs to be a deep one because even smallish clems grow long, fat roots.   Give it a mix of John Innes no 3 and multi purpose compost to male sure it has nutrients but also retains moisture and isn't too heavy.   You may need to water it twice a day on hot days and it will need regular feeding.  Thirsty plants clematis, especially when grown hanging up and open to more winds.
