Seedling Id please :-)

I broke the stem when pulling it, so there are now. 2 parts to it :-)
There are hundreds of these seedlings appearing in both our back and front gardens and we aren't sure whether to pull them all or not. They look a bit Bindweed-ish to me, which unnerved me. I'm sure one of you experts will be able to help...

    Looks like bindweed.

    Don't say that word :-)  my allotment experience makes me very worried about that prospect, with my hoe sharpened and poised.

    Looks like black bindweed, Fallopia convolvulus, a... relative of the JK.

    That’s a tree seedling.   Probably sycamore.

    That sounds more appealing!  :-) We've got hawthorns near the affected areas and a field maple near just one of them. What do you reckon! :-) I'm almost breathing normally again :-)
