Advice needed ....

Both these plants look worse for wear - I have two of the hebe's in different positions and both of them look like this.  The Choisya looked beautiful last year (don't ask me why I put it in a pot lol) but now it looks like this - are they saveable?

There is new growth at the bottom of the choisya so cut it back to there.  It would do better planted in the ground.
If you see any new growth at the bottom of the hebes cut them back too.  Some hebes aren't very long lived so it's a good idea to take cuttings from them.

  • Thanks Joyce, I'm not at the 'taking cuttings' stage (still trying to teach myself but it's a slow process lol) the hebe's were beautiful when I got them, lots of purple flowers but both of them look like that now and one is in a raised border with good drainage.  Will cut that Choisya right back in try find a spot in the garden for it.  I've posted for help about a ceanothus too, can you have a look at it for me and let me know what you think?  p.s.  I've got tons of 2 year old leaf mold - so proud of it, if you were local to me I could give you some!
