Peony question

hi there! My gran gave me two peony bulbs she got going cheap from Aldi I think. I checked on line and advice is plant in autum but pack says I could do it now? Is there any point in doing now or should I wait till autum and will the bulbs be ok then? I’m not hopeful 😕 thanks in advance

Plant them now and hope for the best.  They'll die if you leave them any longer.  They won't be bulbs, they'll be roots  with shoots on , plant them so the top of the roots are just below the surface of the soil.
    Good luck  :)

  • Thanks very much ! I’ll do it now. Nothing to loose and a lovely big peony Bush to gain (ever hopeful)
  • Peonies love very rich and well drained soils so whatever you do add a lots of compost to enrich the soil before planting.

Don't plant deep just about 3 inches below the success surface.
  • Thanks everyone that’s it in now and I went to garden centre for more compost . If the gardening gods are smiling in me I’ll come back with a nice picture of it 👍😀
